Welcome to Project VOLO
(Formerly the Knoxville Family Justice Center)
Help Is Available. A Powerful New Chapter Is Underway.
The Knoxville Family Justice Center has evolved. While our non-profit is no longer operating out of the physical building at 400 Harriet Tubman Street, our mission to protect and support survivors has not changed – it is growing. We are transitioning to a digital-first organization under our new name: Project VOLO.
Our website and digital tools are currently under construction as we build a more accessible way to connect our community with help.
Need Help Right Now?
If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
While our new digital platform is being built, direct crisis support, advocacy, and emergency shelter remain available 24/7 through our trusted local partners:

What Is Changing
We are moving beyond the walls of a single building to meet people where they actually are – discreetly, directly, and digitally.
- Fully Remote & Community-Focused: We are not expanding into new physical brick-and-mortar offices. Instead, our team operates fully remotely, allowing us to direct our resources into widespread community outreach, education, and digital access.
- Coming Soon! Our Resource Navigation Platform: We are building an interactive, intelligent digital and confidential platform. Rather than leaving you to search through overwhelming phone lists or confusing web searches, this tool will interactively guide you to the exact legal options, local resources, and specialized services that fit your specific situation.
What Has Not Changed
Our commitment remains identical: creating a community where every survivor is heard, supported, and connected to safety. During this transition, we remain focused on:
- Increasing awareness and education
- Strengthening connections to trusted resources
- Improving access to survivor-centered support
- Building partnerships that help interrupt cycles of violence
- Creating a more inclusive and responsive path forward
